The following statement is attributed to Senate Democratic Leader Anthony Hensley, D-Topeka, in response to the $10.5 million revenue shortfall reported for the month of August 2016:
“The governor wants input on how to develop a new school finance formula, but the question remains: With revenue down month after month, how will we fund it?
“This is another indication that Kansans need to speak up by voting in November to replace those legislators who have rubber stamped Sam Brownback’s irresponsible agenda. Only then can we put the state back on a path with a balanced budget and a fully funded school finance formula.”
